Brock Boeser had two goals and an assist as the Vancouver Canucks completed a three-game sweep of the visiting Ottawa Senators with a 4-1 victory Thursday night.

Elias Pettersson had a goal and an assist, Tanner Pearson also scored and Quinn Hughes added two helpers for the Canucks, who outscored Ottawa 16-3 in the series. Goaltender Braden Holtby made 36 saves and also set up a goal.

Thomas Chabot scored the lone goal for the Senators and Matt Murray stopped 21 of 25 shots. Ottawa is winless in its past seven games (0-6-1) since a victory in its season opener.

The Canucks opened the scoring at 5:30 of the first on the power play. J.T. Miller controlled the puck in the left faceoff circle before passing to Boeser along the goal line to the left of the net. Boeser stickhandled between two Ottawa defensemen to get to the top of the crease and lifted a shot over Murray and inside the near post.

Vancouver doubled the lead at 10:49 on a three-on-two break. Boeser's shot was deflected by diving Ottawa defenseman Nikita Zaitsev, but the puck flipped up in the air and bounced toward the net, with Pettersson lifting a half-volley over Murray, who had dropped to his knees to defend the initial shot.

Holtby set up the Canucks' net goal, coming out of his crease to corral the puck after it had been dumped into the Vancouver zone and quickly firing a pass to the opposing blue line, where Pettersson and Boeser were waiting along the right-wing boards. Petterrsson tapped the puck ahead to Boeser, who drove to the faceoff dot before putting a wrister off the left post and into the net at 4:32 of the second.

Chabot got the Senators on the board at 14:15 of the period, taking possession at center ice and driving down the right wing and around Hughes before stuffing the puck past Holtby.

The Canucks restored their three-goal lead just 1:47 into the third as Pearson grabbed his own rebound just beneath the goal line and fired the puck off the left post and Murray's back before it trickled into the net.
