Team Rice 22, Team Sanders 21: DeMarco Murray caught a dump-off pass from Alex Smith and raced 20 yards to the end zone with 41 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and Mike Tolbert ran for the game-winning two-point conversion as Team Rice edged Team Sanders in the Pro Bowl.

Josh Gordon led the way for Team Rice with six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown while Jimmy Graham had five receptions for 51 yards and another score. Tony Gonzalez, who is heading into retirement, hauled in three passes for 50 yards and Murray made four catches for 37 yards.

Andrew Luck and offensive MVP Nick Foles each threw for a TD while Cam Newton ran for a 1-yard score in the second quarter for Team Sanders. Running back Alfred Morris, who amassed 78 yards receiving in 16 games this season with the Washington Redskins, recorded a game-high 69 yards on four catches while DeSean Jackson added 40 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Luck helped put Team Sanders on the board with a pass to Jackson, who outjumped Alterraun Verner in the end zone on a flea-flicker for a 36-yard score. Graham evened it early in the second quarter on an 8-yard TD pass from New Orleans Saints teammate Drew Brees and Gordon capped a 21-point period by catching a 10-yard pass from Philip Rivers in the back of the end zone that answered the only rushing touchdown of the game by Newton.

Following a scoreless third quarter – the first at this event since 2007 – Foles marched Team Sanders down the field in five plays, capping the drive with a 12-yard TD pass to Jordan Cameron for a 21-14 lead with 4:41 remaining. After Smith connected with Gordon and Alshon Jeffery on big plays to set up Murray’s score, Team Sanders made a last-ditch attempt to win it, but Justin Tucker’s 67-yard field-goal attempt as time expired was off the mark.

GAME NOTEBOOK: In addition to the first-ever fantasy draft format that allowed teammates to square off against each other, the game featured a number of rule changes – including the elimination of kickoffs, the ability to play Cover 2 and press-man coverage all over the field and a two-minute warning in every quarter. … The teams combined for nine sacks and eight turnovers. … Team Rice LB Derrick Johnson collected defensive MVP honors after registering nine tackles and a forced fumble.
