Isaac Redman replaced an injured Rashard Mendenhall and rushed for a touchdown as the Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up the regular season with a 13-9 victory over the host Cleveland Browns.

Despite the victory, the Steelers (12-4) will be the No. 5 seed in the playoffs after the Baltimore Ravens (12-4) won the AFC North by virtue of a tiebreaker.

As a result, the Ravens earned a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed while the Steelers will travel to Denver on Sunday to face the AFC West champion Broncos next weekend.

Ben Roethlisberger passed for 221 yards and Shaun Suisham kicked a pair of short field goals for Pittsburgh, which controlled the ball for nearly 40 minutes thanks to a strong running game and dominating defensive effort.

Roethlisberger, who has been dealing with a high ankle sprain since Week 14, was expected to get 25 to 30 snaps in Sunday’s game before yielding to backup Charlie Batch. Instead, the Pro Bowler went up against the Cleveland defense all afternoon, completing 23 of 40 passes.

The Steelers did not get on the board until the final snap of the first half, cutting it to 6-3 on Suisham’s 29-yard field goal.

Suisham tied it early in the third and Pittsburgh finally took the lead on its next drive, turning an interception into six points on Redman’s 7-yard run.

The Steelers held Browns quarterback Seneca Wallace to 177 yards on 16-of-41 passing.

Cleveland (4-12) got a pair of 40-plus yard field goals from Phil Dawson.
