Mark Sanchez has led the New York Jets to come-from-behind wins with dramatic fourth-quarter drives over the last two weeks.

Sanchez took all the drama out of Sunday’s game by running for one score and throwing for two more in the first half as New York cruised to a 37-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

New York’s defense allowed just one first down in the first half on the way to a commanding 28-3 lead. By that time, Sanchez had done his damage to lead the Jets (8-5) to their third straight win and keep pace in the AFC wild-card picture. New York’s win also prevented New England (10-3) from clinching the AFC East title.

In all, Sanchez ran for a career-best two touchdowns on the day. The short runs came from 1 and 3 yards out. He also threw touchdown passes of 4 yards to Santonio Holmes and 19 yards on a nifty catch-and-run to LaDainian Tomlinson.

Shonn Greene led the Jets’ ground game with 129 yards on 24 carries. Greene, who scored three times last week, scored on a 7-yard run against the Chiefs on the way to his second 100-yard game of the season.

Meanwhile, Kansas City’s faint playoff hopes took a major blow. The Chiefs (5-8) got a late touchdown pass from Tyler Palko to Jerheme Urban in the middle of traffic in the end zone from 28 yards but managed little else.

Kansas City gained only 65 yards on the ground on 21 carries.
