LeSean McCoy rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries and the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense managed to hold a halftime lead as they snapped a four-game slide with a 20-13 victory over the host Washington Redskins.

Michael Vick completed 18 of 31 passes for 237 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Eagles, who had blown large leads in previous losses.

But this time Vick stayed on the field and kept the ball out of the hands of the defense, not scoring any second-half points but also not committing any turnovers after the break.

The much-maligned Philadelphia defense was the key, intercepting Rex Grossman four times and holding the Redskins starter to 9 of 22 for 143 yards and a 23.7 rating.

Grossman was benched in favor of John Beck in the second half.

Beck led Washington’s lone touchdown drive, rushing in from 2 yards out cut it to 20-13 with 2:44 left.

The Eagles did not left the Redskins have another chance, as McCoy and Vick each rushed for a first down on the ensuing drive to help run out the clock.

Philadelphia scored 20 straight points to start the game, getting a 7-yard touchdown connection from Vick to tight end Brent Celek in the first quarter and McCoy’s 1-yard burst in the second.

Jeremy Maclin helped out Vick with five catches for 101 yards.
