Darren McFadden rushed for 150 yards and Sebastian Janikowski kicked three field goals, including a record-tying 63-yarder, to lift the visiting Oakland Raiders to a 23-20 victory over the turnover-prone Denver Broncos on Monday night.

The Raiders turned three turnovers and a blocked punt into 13 points and snapped a string of losing eight consecutive season openers to give Hue Jackson a victory in his head coaching debut.

McFadden had a dazzling 47-yard run to set up quarterback Jason Campbell's 1-yard plunge for a 23-13 lead with 12 1/2 minutes to play.

That touchdown came three plays after Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton committed a huge turnover with his team driving for the tying or go-ahead score.

Orton simply dropped the ball as he was attempting to pass and the Raiders recovered. Moments later, Denver fans started to chant for backup quarterback Tim Tebow, last year's first-round draft pick.

Denver, which had won 11 consecutive home openers, got within 23-20 with 3:48 left when Orton capped a 12-play, 80-yard drive with a 9-yard scoring pass to Lance Ball, but the Raiders ran out the clock for their eighth straight win over an AFC West foe.

The Raiders took control of a sloppy, penalty-filled first half by scoring 16 points in the second quarter.

Janikowski kicked three field goals in the quarter, including the booming 63-yarder as time expired in the half that tied Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam for the longest in NFL history.

Eric Decker had a 90-yard punt return for Denver. It was the eighth kickoff or punt return for a TD during Week 1, setting a league record for the most in any week.

Orton finished 24 of 46 for 304 yards with a TD, interception and fumble.
