Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes, Mike Tolbert scored twice and the San Diego Chargers took advantage of six turnovers to pummel the Jacksonville Jaguars 38-13 on Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium.

Rivers threw two interceptions in the first half, but he rebounded to finish with 334 yards on 22-of-29 passing, throwing two touchdowns to Antonio Gates and another to Malcom Floyd.

Floyd caught three passes for 95 yards, including the 54-yard touchdown, and Gates had five catches for 57 yards with scores of 9 and 4 yards.

Tolbert replaced rookie running back Ryan Mathews, who was carted off with an ankle injury in the first half, and rushed for 82 yards on 16 carries, scoring on runs of 1 and 2 yards.

Jaguars quarterback David Garrard threw four interceptions and completed 15 of 23 passes for 173 yards. He was replaced in the fourth quarter by Luke McCown, but returned to throw a touchdown to Mike Sims-Walker after McCown was shaken up.

Sims-Walker caught 10 passes for 105 yards and a score after being held without a catch last week against Denver.

Jacksonville's six turnovers are a franchise record. Four of the Jaguars' first five drives ended in turnovers.
