Alan Bowman threw for 286 yards Saturday night and Oklahoma State scored 21 third-quarter points to blow open a close Big 12 Conference matchup on its way to a 45-13 win over Cincinnati in Stillwater, Okla.

Bowman, who completed 17 of 34 passes with two touchdowns and an interception, found Brennan Presley with a 15-yard scoring strike just over three minutes into the third period. Ollie Gordon made it 24-7 less than three minutes later with a 9-yard touchdown run and Presley added a 1-yard scoring jaunt at the 3:15 mark.

Gordon carved up the Bearcats for 271 yards on 25 rushes, including a late 75-yard scoring sprint, as the Cowboys (6-2, 4-1 Big 12) finished with 601 total yards. Leon Johnson III caught five passes for 149 yards.

Cincinnati (2-6, 0-5) continued to struggle in its first year in the Big 12. Quarterback Emory Jones completed only 6 of 16 passes for 117 yards with an interception before being relieved by Brady Lichtenberg.

The Bearcats finished with 442 total yards but couldn't score in the second half until Lichtenburg hit Aaron Turner with a 21-yard touchdown pass with 4:54 left in the game. Myles Montgomery rushed for 90 yards on just eight carries and Corey Kiner added 79 on 17 attempts.

Oklahoma State needed less than two minutes to get on the board. Johnson and Bowman offered a hint of future attractions by teaming up for a 29-yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

But Cincinnati was able to battle back behind a ground game that chewed up well over 200 yards on the night. Montgomery got 63 of them in one shot, scoring the tying touchdown at the 1:41 mark of the first quarter.

Alex Hale gave the Cowboys a 10-7 edge with 8:55 remaining in the first half with a 28-yard field goal but he also missed a 40-yarder later in the half. Bowman also kneecapped a scoring chance in the final minute of the first half by tossing an interception at midfield.
