Greg Thomas kicked a 17-yard field goal with eight seconds remaining as California upset No. 14 Washington for the second consecutive season, snapping the Huskies' 15-game home winning streak with a 20-19 decision Saturday night.

The Pac-12 Conference opener for both schools featured a weather delay of more than two-and-a-half hours because of lightning strikes in the Seattle area and didn't end until nearly 1:30 a.m. PT.

Chris Brown Jr. rushed for 80 yards for the Golden Bears (2-0), and Marcel Dancy added 72 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Chase Garbers was 11-of-18 passing for 111 yards and ran for 42 on 13 carries.

Cal linebacker Evan Weaver, whose interception return for a touchdown led the Bears to a 12-10 victory over the Huskies last season in Berkeley, Calif., made 18 tackles, including two for loss, and forced a fumble.

Salvon Ahmed rushed for a career-high 119 yards for the Huskies (1-1). Jacob Eason completed 18 of 30 passes for 162 yards and an interception.

Peyton Henry kicked four field goals, including a career-long 49-yarder with 2:05 remaining that put Washington ahead 19-17.

But the Bears drove 74 yards in nine plays down to the Washington 1-yard line before sending on Thomas, a senior, for the winner.

After trailing 10-3 at the half, the Bears scored touchdowns on both of their third-quarter possessions.

Dancy rushed for a 20-yard score with 11:56 left in the quarter to tie the score at 10-10.

The Huskies regained the lead on Henry's 21-yard field goal before Cal marched 73 yards in 11 plays, with Dancy scoring from the 8-yard line to give the Bears a 17-13 lead with 50 seconds remaining in the third.

Henry kicked a 25-yarder with 7:10 left in the game to make it 17-16.

Earlier, he hit a 36-yard field goal on the first play of the second quarter to snap a scoreless tie.

Washington extended the lead to 10-0 on Ahmed's 21-yard touchdown run with 7:59 left before the half.

Thomas kicked a 23-yard field goal with 3:43 left in the second to pull the Bears within 10-3.

The Bears forced Eason into two turnovers in the first half, on a Camryn Bynum interception and then a fumble when Eason was brought down by Weaver while scrambling outside of the pocket.
