Quarterback Joel Stave threw three touchdown passes and wide receiver Robert Wheelwright caught two scores as Wisconsin clobbered visiting Miami (Ohio) 58-0 on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.

Stave, a redshirt senior, completed 19 of 30 passes for 236 yards, three scores and one interception through three-plus quarters. Wheelwright hauled in scores of 13 and 15 yards, and finished with six catches for 79 yards.

Running back Taiwan Deal rushed for two TDs for the Badgers in their first meeting against Miami (Ohio). The victory was the first for Paul Chryst as Wisconsin head coach.

Tanner McEvoy started both ways for the Badgers -- at wide receiver and free safety -- and made an impact. McEvoy, a 6-foot-6 former quarterback, stepped in front of a RedHawks pass for an interception in the second quarter, and ran 41 yards to Wisconsin's 4-yard line. Deal scampered one yard for a TD on the next play to extend the Badgers' lead to 27-0 with 1 minute left in the first half.

Badgers running back Dare Ogunbowale inherited the bulk of plays on the ground in the absence of Corey Clement, who was sidelined with a groin injury. Ogunbowale finished with 16 carries for 112 yards and one TD, and also had three receptions for 25 yards.

Kicker Rafael Gaglianone added first-half field goals of 38, 29 and 25 yards for Wisconsin.

The Badgers held the RedHawks to 158 total yards on offense, including minus-3 rushing yards.

Wisconsin strong safety Michael Caputo returned to action after sustaining a head injury on the fourth play of the game during the Badgers' 35-17 loss one week ago to then-No. 3 Alabama.
