MANHATTAN, Kan. - Second-ranked TCU stormed back from an 18-point halftime deficit to notch a 52-45 victory over Kansas State on Saturday in front of 53,671 at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, the third largest crowd in school history.

The Horned Frogs outscored the Wildcats 35-10 after the intermission. Kansas State had a streak of 49 straight victories when leading at halftime snapped last week at Oklahoma State.

TCU (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) got back into the game quickly when safety Derrick Kindred picked off a Joe Hubener pass and raced 60 yards for a touchdown, cutting its deficit to 35-24.

Following a Kansas State punt to the TCU 12-yard line, the Horned Frogs cut the lead to 35-31 on nine-play, 88-yard drive, capped by an 8-yard scamper by running back Aaron Green.

But when TCU appeared to have all the momentum, Kansas State (3-2, 0-2) rattled off a 10-play, 45-yard drive that took 5:45 and regained a double-digit lead at 42-31. Quarterback Joe Hubener scored his fourth rushing touchdown from 1 yard out. It was the 10th straight touchdown on a red-zone possession for Kansas State.

TCU answered with an 11-play, 70-yard drive that was capped by a nifty 14-yard run by quarterback Trevone Boykin. The two-point conversion failed.

Kansas State went three-and-out on its next possession and TCU took over on its own 30. After a 1-yard gain, Boykin raced 69 yards through a hole on the right side to give the Horned Frogs a 43-42 edge. The two-point conversion was a Boykin pass to Josh Doctson.

Kansas State took over at its own 25 with 6:07 remaining. The Wildcats marched 55 yards to the TCU 20, where they faced a fourth-and-1 with 1:52 remaining. Head coach Bill Snyder chose to attempt a field goal, which Jack Cantele hit from 37 yards to tie the score.

TCU took over on its own 36-yard line. Although Kansas State held a 39:45 to 20:15 edge in time of possession, the 1:40 left on the clock was more than enough for the Horned Frogs. After a 9-yard run by Boykin, he connected with Doctson for a 55-yard touchdown for the game-winner.



Green raced untouched up the middle for an 86-yard touchdown on the first play of the game. It was the Horned Frogs' longest run since LaDanian Tomlinson scored on an 89-yard touchdown versus UTEP in 2000.

Kansas State answered with a 10-play, 64-yard drive that took 4:58, capped by Hubener's 2-yard quarterback sneak.

Boykin connected with Doctson on a 32-yard touchdown on the next possession, which took 1:42 to go 59 yards. After the teams traded punts, Kansas State took another 10 plays and 5:39 to go 76 yards to tie the score at 14.

Kicker Jaden Oberkrom connected from 50 yards to give TCU a 17-14 lead with 11:32 left in the first half. It was the 65th made field goal of his career, tying him with Nick Browne for the all-time TCU record.

The Wildcats answered with an eight-play drive to take a 21-17 lead and the score came on a 28-yard run by Charles Jones.

Kansas State got a break on TCU's next possession when defensive end Marquel Bryant hit Boykin as he was throwing and linebacker Elijah Lee picked it off at the TCU 24. Jones scored from 7 yards out to give Kansas State a 28-17 lead with 4:56 left in the half. The two-minute scoring drive was 18 seconds longer than TCU's longest scoring drive of the half.

Following a 13-yard punt, the Wildcats took over at the TCU 40 with 4:02 left. Hubener scored from the 1-yard line with 22 seconds to play and the Wildcats went to halftime with a 35-17 lead.

The Wildcats held a 22:47 to 7:13 edge in time of possession in the first half.

Notes: TCU holds a 5-4 lead in the series after Saturday's victory. The teams have split four meetings since the Horned Frogs joined the Big 12 Conference in 2012. ... TCU entered the game ranked second in the Big 12 in scoring offense, total offense, passing offense and passing efficiency. ... Kansas State had the nation's third best rushing defense coming into Saturday's game. ... Since 2009, TCU has the nation's third-best road record, which stands 28-7 (.800) after Saturday's win.
