DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke running back Shaun Wilson scored two touchdowns, including one when he took a swing pass 89 yards, as the Blue Devils overwhelmed cross-city opponent North Carolina Central in a 55-0 victory on Saturday night at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Quarterback Thomas Sirk threw for 315 yards and rushed for 86 yards in his second career start for the Blue Devils.

Sirk's touchdown strike to Wilson was the third-longest pass play in Duke history. Wilson was the game's leading receiver with 102 yards.

Duke (2-0) scored first with 2:49 left in the first quarter when Sirk threw 28 yards to running back Shaquille Powell to cap a 10-play drive aided by two N.C. Central penalties.

Sirk ran for a 6-yard touchdown to open a 17-point second quarter for the Blue Devils, who received a 34-yard field goal from Ross Martin and a 1-yard touchdown run from Wilson.

Duke outgained N.C. Central 320-69 yards in the first half, then wasted no time in building that gap by driving 78 yards to start the second half and score on Sirk's 43-yard pass to receiver Max McCaffrey.

Martin booted a 38-yard field goal later in the third quarter. Running back Zach Boden added a 1-yard scoring run and backup quarterback Parker Boehme ran 4 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

N.C. Central (1-1) never took a snap in Duke territory until less than four minutes remained in the third quarter. The Eagles punted on that fourth-down play.
