Rice 30, Fresno State 6: Driphus Jackson threw three touchdown passes as the Owls dominated the Bulldogs at the Hawaii Bowl in Honolulu.

Jackson was 15-of-24 for 318 yards and found three different receivers for a score, including Dennis Parks (five catches, career-high 109 yards). Darik Dillard had a rushing TD for the Owls (8-5), who overcame 12 penalties for 100 yards, compared to one 15-yard penalty for the Bulldogs.

Fresno State's Brian Burrell was 10-of-20 for 44 yards and two interceptions before giving way to Zack Greenlee, who went 7-of-18 for 49 yards. Marteze Waller and Josh Quezada combined for 128 rushing yards for the Bulldogs (6-8), who were the only sub-.500 team to earn a bowl berth and played like it, going a combined 7-of-25 on third and fourth downs.

The Owls dominated the first quarter, taking a 16-3 lead behind Jackson's touchdown passes to Jordan Taylor (14 yards) and Mario Hull (69 yards). Rice outgained the Bulldogs 268-28 in the opening period, but totaled four yards in the second quarter as Fresno State closed within 16-6 at intermission.

Jackson's 40-yard strike to Parks midway through the third pushed the advantage to 23-6 and Dillard's 1-yard run capped the scoring with 10:07 remaining. Fresno State's 15 drives ended in six punts, four turnovers on downs, two interceptions, two field goals and a blocked field goal.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Parks' previous season high in receiving yards was 63. His previous career high was 75, set last season. ... Fresno State also appeared in the Hawaii Bowl two years ago and has been outscored 73-16 in its two postseason appearances in Honolulu. ... Rice, which gave up 76 points and 677 total yards to Louisiana Tech in its regular-season finale, allowed 255 total yards in this one.
