West Virginia 33, Kansas 14: Kevin White hauled in six passes for 132 yards and a score to help the host Mountaineers capture their first Big 12 victory of the season.

Clint Trickett passed for 302 yards, a touchdown and had an interception while Rushel Shell added 113 yards rushing and a score for West Virginia (3-2, 1-1 Big 12), which rolled for 557 yards. Mario Alford had four receptions for 80 yards and brought back a kickoff for a score - his second of the season.

Corey Avery had 58 yards rushing and a touchdown to pace the Kansas rushing attack, which netted 65 yards on the ground after averaging 193.5 yards over its first four games. Montel Cozart, Michael Cummings and T.J. Millweard combined to throw for 111 yards and the Jayhawks (2-3, 0-2) were forced into 14 punts - a new record at Milan Puskar Stadium.

Josh Lambert connected on three field goals to get the scoring started for West Virginia, and Trickett's 63-yard strike to White pushed the lead to 16-0 after the first quarter. Shell capped off a six-play, 60-yard drive with a rushing touchdown from a yard out and Lambert added a 53-yard field goal to make it 26 unanswered points for the Mountaineers at intermission.

Kansas forced a pair of turnovers in the third stanza - an intercepted pass by Isaiah Johnson and a fumble recovery by Justin McCay on a punt return, the latter of which the Jayhawks converted into a 4-yard score by Avery on the ground. On the ensuing kickoff, Alford took Trevor Pardula's kick 94 yards to the house for a touchdown and Nick Harwell completed the scoring with a 74-yard punt return for a touchdown late in the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: White has gone over 100 yards receiving in all five games for West Virginia and has recorded a touchdown in all but one. ... The Jayhawks were held to 84 yards in the first half and picked up just four first downs. ... Lambert is the first Mountaineers kicker with four field goals in a game since Tyler Bitancurt in 2009.
