Jalen Milroe had four of Alabama's six rushing touchdowns as the No. 8 Crimson Tide defeated No. 14 LSU 42-28 on Saturday night in a Southeastern Conference game in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Milroe finished with 155 of the Tide's 288 rushing yards and added 219 passing yards to their 507 yards of total offense as Alabama (8-1, 6-0 SEC) remained alone in first place in the SEC West.

Milroe outdueled Jayden Daniels, the leader of LSU's top-ranked offense who had 219 passing yards, two touchdown passes, 163 rushing yards and a rushing TD before being sidelined early in the fourth quarter due to concussion protocol. Malik Nabers caught 10 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown for the Tigers (6-3, 4-2).

LSU received the opening kickoff of the second half and drove to Josh Williams' 2-yard touchdown run and a 28-21 lead.

The ensuing Alabama possession ended with Roydell Williams running 16 yards for a touchdown that produced the fourth tie of the game.

Milroe ran 11 yards for his fourth touchdown to give the Crimson Tide a 35-28 lead with 1:01 left in the third quarter.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, a Daniels pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage and Terrion Arnold came down with an interception and returned it to the LSU 25.

Three plays later, Jase McClellan ran 10 yards for a touchdown and a 42-28 lead.

LSU's first possession of the game ended with Daniels throwing a 46-yard touchdown pass to Nabers for a 7-0 edge.

Milroe responded with touchdown runs of 23 and 4 yards to give the Tide a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Daniels ran 9 yards for a score that pulled the Tigers even at 14 with 3:09 left in the second.

Milroe ran 21 yards for another touchdown to break the tie with 1:01 left in the second quarter, but Daniels answered with runs of 40 and 28 yards before throwing a 26-yard touchdown pass to Kyren Lacy to create a 21-all halftime tie.
