Jack Colletto rushed for two touchdowns and Oregon State's defense smothered visiting Washington State in the Beavers' 24-10 Pac-12 Conference victory Saturday night in Corvallis, Ore.

The Beavers (5-2, 2-2 in Pac-12) had six sacks and held the Cougars to 23 rushing yards. Washington State quarterback Cam Ward (25-for-54 passing, 345 yards) threw incomplete with 6:06 left for a turnover on downs, pressured by the Beavers' pass rush on the play that essentially ended any hope for a Cougars comeback.

Washington State had the ball at the Oregon State 15-yard line inside of two minutes with a chance to score, but Jaydon Grant sacked Ward for a 10-yard loss. The Cougars, who were 0-for-4 on fourth down, had to go for it on fourth again and Ward's scramble came up short for another turnover.

Washington State (4-3, 1-3) had won eight straight games against Oregon State, including four in Corvallis. The last Beavers win in the series at home was Oct. 6, 2012.

Ben Gulbranson, replacing the injured Chance Nolan at quarterback for the Beavers, completed 12 of 24 passes for 141 yards with a touchdown and interception. The Beavers' running game was in control as Oregon State rushed for 203 yards.

Damien Martinez led the ground attack with 111 yards on 16 carries. Fifty of those yards came on one run. Colletto scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter for the game's first points 4:17 in and added a 2-yard TD run early in the fourth to give Oregon State a two-touchdown lead.

Anthony Gould caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Gulbranson in the third quarter.

The Cougars were held to only a field goal in the first half, forced to punt on four of six drives and turning the ball over on downs on another possession. A third quarter 9-yard touchdown pass from Ward to Jaylen Jenkins was Washington State's only visit to the end zone.

Robert Ferrel had five catches for 131 yards for the Cougars, who have lost three of their past four games.
