Freshman quarterback Shane Illingworth passed for 265 yards and three touchdowns Saturday as No. 17 Oklahoma State generated 593 total yards of offense and blistered Kansas 47-7 at Lawrence, Kan.

The start was the second for Illingworth in place of Spencer Sanders, who remained out after spraining his right ankle in the season opener.

Chuba Hubbard, the nation's leading rusher last season, added 145 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Standout receiver Tylan Wallace contributed nine catches for 148 yards with two scores.

Oklahoma State is the only undefeated team left in the Big 12, climbing to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Cowboys head into a bye week, giving Sanders, last year's Big 12 freshman of the year, additional time to recover and leaving coach Mike Gundy with a QB choice because of Illingworth's effectiveness.

Backup Ethan Bullock replaced Illingworth midway through the third quarter with the Cowboys leading 41-0.

Kansas (0-3, 0-2) suffered its seventh consecutive defeat under Les Miles, the second-year coach who guided Oklahoma State to three bowl appearances in four seasons from 2001-04 before moving on to LSU.

The Jayhawks showed little offensive might, converting just 2 of 17 third and fourth downs while generating 193 total yards. Their first score came with 12:04 left on a 1-yard burst by Velton Gardner. Oklahoma State recorded four sacks.

Oklahoma State executed 20 plays in Kansas territory in the first quarter before claiming a 31-0 halftime margin.

The Cowboys took a 10-0 lead, then scored on their first play of the second quarter, a 66-yard touchdown strike from Illingworth to Braydon Johnson.

Wallace slipped behind blown coverage and scored an easy 55-yard pass from Illingworth to make it 24-0 with 9:22 still left in the first half. Hubbard added a 12-yard scoring rush with 1:58 remaining.

The Cowboys generated 362 first-half yards and 17 first downs, outmatching a battered Kansas defense that allowed 85 points in its first two games.

True freshman quarterback Jalon Daniels drew his second consecutive start for the Jayhawks but hobbled off early in the second quarter and was replaced by Miles Kendrick.
