Louisville kicker Blanton Creque hit a go-ahead 41-yard field goal with 1:02 left as the Cardinals defeated visiting Boston College 41-39 on Saturday.

Two Louisville quarterbacks combined for 428 passing yards.

Boston College quarterback Anthony Brown hit Hunter Long for a 72-yard score in the first quarter to tie the game at 7. Louisville (3-2, 1-1 ACC) responded with a 59-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Micale Cunningham (previously known as Malik Cunningham) to Seth Dawkins shortly thereafter. The teams continued to trade big plays all day.

The Cardinals took a 28-14 lead with 1:45 left in the first half, but Boston College scored just before halftime when backup quarterback Dennis Grosel, relieving the injured Brown, hit Kobay White on a 13-yard touchdown pass and then converted a 2-point pass to make the score 28-22.

Boston College (3-3, 1-3) took a 29-28 lead early in the third quarter when Grosel hit Korab Idrizi on a 19-yard scoring strike.

Louisville's offense did most of its work with Cunningham at quarterback, but backup Evan Conley continued to move the offense in the second half. He hit Dez Fitzpatrick on a 23-yard touchdown pass to give Louisville a 38-29 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Boston College rallied for 10 straight points, with kicker Aaron Boumerhi making a 45-yard field goal to give the Eagles a 39-38 lead with 3:32 left.

Conley led the drive that produced Creque's winning field goal. The Cardinals then stopped Boston College on fourth down near midfield with two seconds left, preserving the win.

Brown threw for 193 yards on 6 of 7 passing. Grosel finished 9 of 24 for 111 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.

Cunningham was 13 for 18 for 288 yards and one touchdown for Louisville. Conley finished 10 of 16 for 140 yards and one touchdown. Dawkins caught six passes for 170 yards, as Chatarius Atwell (110 yards) and Fitzpatrick (108) also reached triple-digits in receiving yards.
