TCU quarterbacks Max Duggan and Alex Delton combined for 286 yards passing and two touchdowns, and Jalen Reagor returned his own fumbled punt 73 yards for another score as the Horned Frogs swamped Kansas 51-14 on Saturday in Big 12 action in Fort Worth, Texas.
TCU (3-1, 1-0) avenged a stunning loss to the Jayhawks last season by removing any suspense in the early going, scoring five touchdowns and a field goal to build a 38-0 lead at halftime.
The Frogs outgained Kansas 351-47 over the first 30 minutes, with their platoon of Duggan (8 of 11 for 100 yards) and Alex Delton (10 of 15 for 186 yards) combining for 12 completions on 15 attempts for 203 yards and two touchdowns in the first half alone.
TCU converted all 10 of its third-down attempts in the half and 14 of 19 in the game while rolling up 625 yards of offense.
Darius Anderson ran for 115 yards on 18 carries for TCU, becoming the first Horned Frogs runner with three straight 100-yard rushing games since 2002.
Carter Stanley passed for 84 yards and a touchdown for Kansas (2-3, 0-2), which had just 159 total yards of offense in the lopsided loss.
Duggan made his second career start and hit Dylan Thomas and Pro Wells for scoring passes of 26 and 7 yards, respectively, in the first quarter. Then, on the final play of the quarter, Reagor mishandled a punt but picked it up on the bounce and scooted 73 yards for a touchdown that gave the Horned Frogs a 21-0 advantage.
Anderson and Sewo Olonilua added scoring runs of 11 and 6 yards for TCU in the second quarter after extended drives, and Jonathan Song's 25-yard field goal with one second left capped the Horned Frogs' dominating half.
Velton Gardner ripped off a 45-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter to get the Jawhawks on the board before freshman Daimarqua Foster scored from 8 yards out to expand TCU's lead to 45-7.
Kansas answered with a 25-yard TD pass from Stanley to Pooka Williams with 3:50 to play. Third-string quarterback Michael Collins, the part-time starter for the Horned Frogs last season, finished the scoring with an 11-yard run on the game's final snap.
