Georgia 41, Georgia Tech 34 (2OT): Hutson Mason threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start and Todd Gurley rushed for two touchdowns in overtime as the visiting Bulldogs rallied from a 20-point deficit to beat their in-state rival.

Georgia (8-4), which lost record-setting quarterback Aaron Murray to a season-ending knee injury last week, responded with a stirring comeback to beat the Yellow Jackets (7-5) for the 12th time in the past 13 years. Gurley scored his third touchdown of the game on the second possession of overtime, and the Bulldogs’ defense tipped away Vad Lee’s pass in the end zone to end the game.

Lee passed for a career-high 232 yards as Georgia Tech, the nation’s fifth-leading rushing team, went to the air. Lee hit DeAndre Smelter on touchdowns of 26 and 7 yards, the later giving the Yellow Jackets a 27-17 advantage with 10:34 to play, but Georgia Tech allowed 10 points in the final 6:37 of regulation.

Lee scored on a 2-yard run on the first possession of overtime, but Gurley scored on a 6-yard run up the middle to tie the score at 34. Gurley broke free on the first play of the ensuing possession to put the Bulldogs ahead 41-34, and Lee’s fourth-down pass into the end zone was deflected twice before falling incomplete.

Gurley scored on a 2-yard run with 6:37 left in regulation to bring the Bulldogs within 27-24, and after Josh Harvey-Clemons’ interception, Marshall Morgan tied the game on a 32-yard field goal with 4:17 remaining in regulation. The Yellow Jackets scored the game’s first 20 points – 17 in the first quarter – to go up 20-0 with six minutes left in the first half.
