No. 11 Oklahoma State 59, Lamar 3: Jeremy Smith rushed for three touchdowns to help the host Cowboys pull away early.

J.W. Walsh completed 17-of-30 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown for Oklahoma State (3-0). Charlie Moore was the leading receiver with four receptions for 48 yards and Walsh led the ground attack with 45 yards rushing.

Caleb Berry completed 18-of-38 passes for 114 yards for Lamar (1-2) but averaged just three yards a completion. Reggie Begelton caught 10 passes for 48 yards.

The Cowboys scored on their first four possessions. Desmond Roland scored on a 2-yard run before Smith added touchdown runs of 4 and 1 yards in the opening quarter.

A 39-yard field goal by Ben Grogan extended the lead to 24-0 and Smith tacked on his third touchdown run of the game with 3:34 left in the second quarter. Lamar made it 31-3 on Justin Stout’s 44-yard field goal as time expired in the opening half.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Cowboys have won 18 consecutive home openers, the longest such streak in program history. … Oklahoma State has won 12 of its last 14 meetings against teams from Texas. … The Cowboys have outscored the opposition 73-3 in the second and third quarters this season.
