: Alonzo Harris rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns as the Ragin' Cajuns blew a 21-point lead before staving off the Pirates to win their second consecutive New Orleans Bowl.

Terrance Broadway hit Javone Lawson for a 14-yard scoring strike with 3:07 left in the third quarter to give Louisiana-Lafayette (9-4) a 37-31 lead and the Ragin' Cajuns defense held East Carolina to just a field goal in its final four possessions.

Broadway finished 21-for-32 for 316 yards and a touchdown and ran for 108 yards and another score.

Shane Carden led the Pirates (8-5) with 278 passing yards and two second-quarter touchdowns, which held East Carolina pull within 10 at the break.

A Broadway 12-yard TD rush and receiver Harry Peoples' 10-yard scamper gave Louisiana-Lafayette a 14-0 lead 43 seconds into the second quarter. After Reggie Bullock responded with a 5-yard score 1:29 later, Harris ran for scores of 6 and 68 yards to push the Ragin' Cajuns' lead to 28-7 with 7:05 left in the half.

Carden tossed scoring passes to Justin Hardy (19 yards) and Danny Webster (16) before Brett Baer nailed a 50-yard field goal to put Louisiana-Lafayette ahead 31-21 at halftime.

A Bullock 13-yard touchdown tied the game at 31-31 with 5:57 left in the third quarter before Broadway connected with Lawson. A Warren Harvey 26-yard field goal pulled East Carolina within three with 13:36 left, but Baer made two more field goals to finish the scoring.

GAME NOTEBOOK: UL-Lafayette defeated San Diego State 32-30 in last year's New Orleans Bowl. ... The Ragin' Cajuns finished with 591 yards of total offense. ... Bullock ran for 99 yards and two TDs, receiving six more carries than East Carolina's regular-season leading rusher Vintavious Cooper. ... Jamal Robinson led UL-Lafayette with six catches for 116 yards. ... The 48,828 fans in attendance set a New Orleans Bowl record.
