No. 9 Stanford 27, No. 16 UCLA 24: Drew Terrell caught the game-tying touchdown and Jordan Williamson hit the go-ahead field goal as the host Cardinal held off a late Bruins charge en route to a victory in the Pac-12 Championship and their first Rose Bowl berth since 2000.

Freshman Kevin Hogan threw for 153 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 49 more and another score in the rainy conditions for Stanford (11-2), which defeated UCLA for the second time in six days and will await the winner of Saturday's Big Ten Championship game between No. 13 Nebraska and Wisconsin.

The Cardinal trailed 24-17 entering the final quarter, but Hogan directed a 10-play, 63-yard drive that ended in Terrell’s dramatic 26-yard touchdown catch on a third-and-15 play. Stanford forced a three-and-out on the next possession and Williamson drilled a 36-yard field goal with 6:49 remaining.

UCLA (9-4) was forced to punt on its next possession, but mounted one final drive that stalled at the Stanford 34 before Ka’imi Fairbairn’s game-tying field goal attempt from 51 yards hooked left with 34 seconds remaining.

Johnathan Franklin rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns for the Bruins.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hogan has defeated a ranked team in each of his four games since becoming the starter prior to the Oregon State game on Nov. 10. … Franklin recorded his third 200-yard rushing game and broke two school records in the process, surpassing Maurice Jones-Drew's all-purpose and Karim Abdul-Jabbar’s single-season rushing yardage marks. … Stanford S Ed Reynolds, who has returned three interceptions for a touchdown this season, was denied an opportunity to tie former California standout CB Deltha O’Neal’s FBS single-season record in the second quarter when officials ruled he was tackled just short of the end zone.
