No. 13 Clemson 42, Wake Forest
13: Tajh Boyd had 286 of his school-record 428 passing yards and five touchdowns in the first half alone as the visiting Tigers cruised past the Demon Deacons and maintained their dominance in the head-to-head series.

Sammy Watkins collected 177 of his school-record 202 receiving yards in a 343-yard first-half effort for Clemson (7-1, 4-1 ACC), which has won four straight against Wake Forest (4-4, 2-4) and 60 of 78 meetings between the schools.

Following punts on their first two series, Boyd led the Tigers on five straight touchdown drives – the first four of which covered at least 68 yards – as the school’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns connected with five different receivers to help Clemson build a 35-0 lead with 1:18 left in the first half.

Tanner Price led the Demon Deacons on a small rally with TD passes late in the second quarter and midway through the third, but the Tigers ended any suspense with 1-yard TD run from D.J. Howard to cap a 13-play scoring drive with 8:44 remaining to account for the final margin.

Price finished with 232 yards and Josh Harris added a game-high 76 yards on the ground for Wake Forest, which has been outscored 157-70 in conference play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Boyd became the sixth quarterback from an FBS school to throw for five touchdowns in one half this season. … Wake Forest, which entered this game allowing opponents to score touchdowns on 19 of their 28 red-zone trips, surrendered four touchdowns on the Tigers’ five red-zone trips. … In addition to breaking Clemson’s single-game record for receiving yards, Watkins caught his first touchdown pass of the season and matched his season total of 202 receiving yards.
