Texas Christian 39, No. 19 West Virginia 38 (2 OT):
Josh Boyce had a 94-yard touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then caught a game-winning 2-point conversion in the second OT as the visiting Horned Frogs stunned the Mountaineers in a wild matchup of Big 12 newcomers.

Both teams failed to score in the first overtime before Geno Smith threw a 25-yard touchdown to Stedman Bailey to give West Virginia a 38-31 lead. TCU rolled the dice, first on a trick play that saw wideout Brandon Carter throw to Corey Fuller for a 25-yard score and then by going for the 2-point conversion, which Boyce caught from Trevone Boykin while rolling to the ground.

Boykin threw for 254 yards and two scores for the Horned Frogs (6-3, 3-3), who trailed 24-14 in the third quarter. Boyce finished with six catches for 180 yards, more than half coming when the Mountaineers (5-3, 2-3) botched coverage on a second-and-19 play at the TCU 6 with 1:28 remaining in regulation.

Smith threw for three touchdowns, including one on a shovel pass that Tavon Austin took 43 yards to make it 14-14 with 9:57 left in the second quarter. Austin also gave West Virginia a short-lived 31-24 lead late in the fourth when he broke free for a 76-yard touchdown on a punt return.

The Horned Frogs missed a field goal in the first overtime. West Virginia had another great opportunity to seal it, but Tyler Bitancurt's 36-yard attempt was blocked as the Mountaineers lost their third straight since opening the season 5-0.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bitancurt also missed a 55-yard field goal try with 13 seconds left in regulation. ... TCU's second-half comeback began when a botched Mountaineers punt attempt resulted in a 15-yard fumble recovery and score for Dominic Merka. ... This was the first meeting between the schools since the 1984 Bluebonnet Bowl in Houston.
