Auburn 42, New Mexico State 7
: Tre Mason ran for a career-high 152 yards and a touchdown as the host Tigers snapped a five-game losing streak.

Onterio McCalebb added 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries as Auburn (2-7) churned out 311 yards rushing to send New Mexico State (1-8) to its eighth consecutive defeat.

The Tigers extended their 7-0 halftime edge with 21 third-quarter points, including a 62-yard fumble return by Daren Bates, to rebound from last week's 63-21 drubbing by Texas A&M.

The powerful ground game made things easier for freshman Jonathan Wallace in his first career start. Wallace finished 9-of-16 for 164 yards with one touchdown and one interception, connecting with Trovon Reed on a 40-yard scoring strike midway through the fourth quarter.

Tiger Powell scored the Aggies' lone touchdown on a 2-yard run with 12:36 to play. Austin Franklin had seven receptions for 154 yards for New Mexico State, which has surrendered an average of 36.4 points during its eight-game skid.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Quarterback Clint Moseley, who started the past three games for Auburn, did not dress for the contest because of an ankle injury. ... Franklin had his seventh 100-yard game of the season for the Aggies. ... Bates' fumble return was the longest by the Tigers for a TD since 1969.
