Washington 20, No. 9 Oregon State 17: Travis Coons kicked a 30-yard field goal with 1:20 to play and the host Huskies intercepted four passes to knock the Beavers from the ranks of the undefeated in a Pac-12 game.

Coons’ kick capped a seven-play, 63-yard drive after Oregon State had rallied to tie the game in the fourth quarter. The loss denied the Beavers (6-1, 4-1 Pac-12) their first 7-0 start in school history.

Bishop Sankey scored a pair of touchdowns for the Huskies (4-4, 2-3) who snapped a three-game slide and defeated a top 10 team for the second time this season. Keith Price threw for 194 yards on 18 for 30 passing for the Huskies.

Quarterback Sean Mannion returned to the Oregon State lineup after missing the past two games following knee surgery. Mannion threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks midway through the third quarter but he was wildly erratic, throwing four interceptions.

Mannion was replaced by Cody Vaz with 8:19 to play in the fourth quarter and Vaz connected with Connor Hamlett for a 29-yard score to tie the game at 17 with 4:58 to play. After Coons’ go-ahead field goal, Vaz drove the Beavers to the Washington 38 before the Beavers turned it over on downs after two incomplete passes, a sack and another incompletion.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Scouts from the Sun Bowl were at the game checking out both teams. …Washington appeared to have taken the lead with 13:22 left in the fourth quarter when John Timu intercepted a Mannion pass and returned it for a score. The Huskies, though, were penalized for an illegal block on the return. …Washington has won its last 10 games decided by less than 10 points, including three this season.
