Purdue 54, Eastern Michigan 16: Caleb TerBush threw a pair of touchdown passes and rushed for another, and Akeem Hunt scored on a 54-yard run and a 50-yard pass to lead the host Boilermakers past the winless Eagles.
Purdue (2-1) reeled off 34 unanswered points - starting with TerBush's swing pass to Hunt which put Purdue ahead 20-9 with 5:23 left in the first half. Brandon Cottom's first career touchdown was an 87-yard run with 2:01 remaining to give Purdue a 27-9 lead.
Hunt, who rushed for a career-best 106 yards on only four carries, raced 56 yards for a touchdown with 9:44 left in the third quarter as Purdue's offense (576 yards) topped 500 for the second time this season. Purdue had touchdown drives of 99, 98 and 95 yards.
Antavian Edison had five catches for 78 yards and a touchdown for Purdue.
Senior quarterback Alex Gillett, making the 30th start of his career, was pulled midway through the third quarter after completing 9 of 15 passes for 66 yards and three interceptions for Eastern Michigan (0-4).
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Boilermakers had six different players score a rushing touchdown. ... Cottom's touchdown run, the fourth-longest in school history, is the longest by a Purdue running back since Keith Carlos went 80 yards against Michigan State in 2010. ... Eastern Michigan, which has never beaten a Big Ten team in 30 meetings, visits No. 10 Michigan State next weekend.
