No. 23 UCLA 37, Houston 6:
Brett Hundley threw a pair of touchdown passes to lead UCLA to an easy victory over the winless Cougars at the Rose Bowl.

One week after Houston quarterback David Piland set an NCAA record for passing attempts (77) without an interception, the Bruins (3-0) picked him off five times.

It took only 14 seconds for UCLA to take the lead as Eric Kendricks picked up a Piland fumble and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown.

Hundley finished 27 of 42 passing for 320 yards, including scoring tosses to Datone Jones and Jordon James as the Bruins built a 30-0 lead. UCLA's Johnathan Franklin, who entered the game leading the nation in rushing, had 110 yards on 25 carries to move into second place on UCLA's all time list.

The Bruins were sloppy themselves losing three fumbles and Hundley was intercepted twice but the Cougars (0-3) couldn't capitalize. Piland (28 for 60 passing, 249 yards) scored on an 86-yard touchdown run to snap the shutout late in the contest.

Game notebook: Houston hasn't dropped its first three games since going 0-11 in 2001. ...UCLA, which is nationally ranked for the first time in four years, has won four of the last five meetings. ... Franklin, with 3,220 yards, trails only Gaston Green's 3,731 in UCLA history.
