Eleven different receivers caught passes for the Bulls. Daniels threw for 265 yards and connected with Derrick Hopkins, Terrence Mitchell and Sterling Griffin for scoring strikes.

Mitchell, who missed most of last season with a concussion, had five receptions for 78 yards and compiled 69 in punt returns.

After Mitchell took a punt back 22 yards, the Bulls only had to go 23 more to take the lead with 7:41 left in the first quarter. Demitris Murray plowed in from the 2-yard line.

A fumble by Daniels set up a Nick Pollard 39-yard field goal, but the senior answered with two touchdown passes for a 21-3 advantage. Daniels hit Hopkins for 19 yards in the left corner and Mitchell for 38 on a post pattern.

Chattanooga had a touchdown nullified by a holding penalty late in the second quarter and missed a field goal. But D.J. Key picked off a Daniels pass to set up a Keon Williams 2-yard run with 30 seconds left in the half and it was 21-10 at halftime.

Daniels hit Griffin for 39 yards and a score in the third quarter then ran 20 yards for a touchdown with 9:52 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: South Florida kicker Maikon Bonani became the school’s all-time scoring leader. Bonani has 248 points, passing Santiago Gramatica (246 from 2001-04). … The Bulls are 11-0 when opening the season at Raymond James Stadium. … It was the first meeting between the teams.
