USC 49, Hawaii 10:
Matt Barkley passed for 351 yards and four touchdowns and Marqise Lee had 291 all-purpose yards as No. 3 USC routed visiting Hawaii.

The Trojans set the tone on the game’s first offensive play when Lee turned a short pass into a 75-yard scoring play, and USC tallied the game’s first 35 points while easily thrashing the Rainbows.

Barkley threw two touchdown passes to Robert Woods and one to Randall Telfer, and USC forced four turnovers to spoil the head coaching debut of Hawaii’s Norm Chow.

The Trojans led 20-0 after the opening quarter as Woods caught a 20-yard scoring pass and Hayes Pullard returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown. Barkley had 215 passing yards in the opening stanza.

Silas Redd, a transfer from Penn State, broke free on a 31-yard scoring scamper early in the second quarter before Barkley hit Woods on a 2-yard scoring aerial to make it 32-0 with five minutes left in the half.

It was 35-0 early in the third quarter before Hawaii got on the board on Sean Schroeder’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Scott Harding. Lee, who caught 10 passes for 191 yards, then returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards to get the lead right back to 35.

Barkley hit Telfer on an 11-yard scoring pass with 12:58 left in the game before being pulled.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
