James Washington’s 1-yard run with 7:08 remaining put the Wolfpack (7-5, 4-4 ACC) ahead for good 42-41.

With the win, North Carolina State becomes bowl eligible.

Glennon, who threw for 306 yards, has 28 touchdown passes -- tied for the third most in a single season at N.C. State.

N.C. State turned the ball over four times, and its defense allowed 218 yards and three touchdown drives in the first half. The Wolfpack, who trailed 41-14 in the third quarter, had given up just three touchdowns combined the previous three weeks.

Maryland (2-10, 1-7), who matched its worst record in its history (2009), had three of its five turnovers in the second half and missed an extra point.

Dexter McDougle scooped up a fumble and ran 66 yards for a score 6:35 into the game and quarterback C.J. Brown ran for the first of his two 1-yard touchdowns with 5:52 left in the first quarter for a 14-0 Maryland lead.

A.J. Hendy also picked off a Glennon pass and returned it 32 yards for a score. Brown later connected with Kevin Dorsey for a 24-yard scoring strike just 33 seconds before halftime for a 34-14 lead.
