Jerry Franklin returned a fourth-quarter fumble 94 yards for a touchdown, and Vanderbilt missed a short field goal with eight seconds left as No. 8 Arkansas survived 31-28 at Vanderbilt.

For the fourth consecutive week, the Razorbacks (7-1, 3-1 SEC) trailed at halftime but rallied to win. Franklin recovered Zac Stacy’s fumble at the Arkansas 6 and returned it for a touchdown with 13:25 left, bringing the Razorbacks within 28-26.

Tyler Wilson then found Jarius Wright on the two-point conversion pass, tying the game at 28-28. Zach Hocker’s third field-goal of the game, a 42-yarder with 6:53 to go, gave the Razorbacks their first lead at 31-28.Vanderbilt marched to the Arkansas 10 in the final minute, but Carey Spear’s 27-yard field-goal attempt sailed wide right.

One week after falling behind 17-0 against Mississippi, the Razorbacks again stumbled in the first half. Vanderbilt (4-4, 1-4) used a 21-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Rodgers to Jordan Matthews, and a pair of Rodgers rushing touchdowns (19 yards; 3 yards) to lead 21-7 late in the first half.

Arkansas receiver Marquel Wade was ejected in the third quarter after running into punt returner Jonathan Krause, who had signaled for a fair catch. Krause was down for several minutes after being hit.

Vanderbilt travels to Florida on Saturday, while Arkansas plays host to No. 14 South Carolina.
