Brock Osweiler passed for 353 yards and three touchdowns, and threw the winning score in overtime to lead No. 23 Arizona State to a 37-30 victory over No. 19 Missouri on Friday in Tempe, Ariz.
Senior wideout Aaron Pflugrad had 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns for the Sun Devils, who blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter.
Osweiler found Jamal Miles with an 11-yard swing pass for a touchdown in overtime, and the game ended when Tigers’ quarterback James Franklin threw an incompletion on fourth-and-5.
Franklin also led a possible game-winning drive in the final minute, but Grant Ressel missed a 48-yard field goal near the end of regulation that would have won it for Missouri. Ressel, who had missed three field goals in his first 27 career games, missed two Friday.
Franklin, making only his second career start, had 403 total yards and three touchdowns for the Tigers, who committed 11 penalties for 113 yards. He led two scoring drives to tie the game at 30-30 with less than three minutes
remaining in regulation.
The loss snapped a 22-game regular-season non-conference winning streak for the Tigers, whose last loss came against New Mexico in 2005.
The win was Arizona State’s first over a ranked opponent since 2007.
