Colin Kaepernick ran for three touchdowns and No. 17 Nevada clinched a share of the Western Athletic Conference title Saturday with a 35-17 win over Louisiana Tech.

The Wolf Pack, who upset Boise State last week for the biggest win in school history, trailed twice in the first half and didn't put Louisiana Tech away until the fourth quarter.

Kaepernick ran for 154 yards on 20 carries for visiting Nevada (12-1, 7-1 WAC). He also completed 13 of 17 passes for 157 yards. Vai Taua had two touchdown runs and gained 164 yards on 30 carries.

Louisiana Tech (5-7, 4-4) would have been bowl eligible with a win, but faded after being tied at halftime. Ross Jenkins completed 14 of 23 passes for 189 yards.

The Bulldogs scored first when Jenkins hit Eric Harper for a 20-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Taua's 1-yard run tied the game with 13:31 remaining in the second quarter, but Jenkins' 1-yard run put the Bulldogs up three minutes later. Nevada tied the game on Kaepernick's 5-yard run with 2:12 left before halftime.

Kaepernick put Nevada ahead with a 1-yard run in the third quarter before Matt Nelson kicked a 25-yard field goal for Louisiana Tech.

Kaepernick scored again on a 28-yard run 50 seconds into the fourth quarter. Taua scored on a 6-yard run with 10:30 left to play
