Maryland used three fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull away from host Virginia 42-23 in ACC play Saturday.
D.J. Adams scored his third touchdown of the day on a 2-yard rush with 14:53 left, putting the Terps (7-3, 4-2) ahead 28-23. Quarterback Danny O'Brien later threw two touchdowns, a 2-yarder to Da'Rel Scott and a 12-yarder to Torrey Smith with three minutes left.
The Cavaliers (4-5, 1-5), who trailed just 21-20 at the half, got 267 passing yards from quarterback Marc Verica. But he was intercepted twice in the loss.
O'Brien threw for 289 yards and also had a 12-yard touchdown run.
