Cyrus Gray rushed for 125 yards and a crucial touchdown as host Texas A&M upset No. 9 Oklahoma 33-19 in the Big 12 at College Station, Texas, on Saturday.

Gray scored on a 23-yard run early in the fourth quarter after Oklahoma had cut Texas A&M’s 19-point lead down to 19-17. Four minutes later, Ryan Tannehill connected on a 64-yard scoring pass to Ryan Swope to put the Aggies up by 16 points with 7:50 remaining.

The loss eliminates Oklahoma (7-2, 3-2) from national championship contention. They are tied with the Aggies (6-3, 3-2) for third in the Big 12 South.

The Aggies led 12-0 at halftime, and made it 19-0 when Coryell Judie returned the second half kickoff 100 yards.

Oklahoma’s offense awoke after the return with 17 third-quarter points. DeMarco Murray scored on a 1-yard run, Patrick O’Hara kicked a 45-yard field and Landry Jones tossed a 6-yard scoring pass to Trey Franks.

Texas A&M led 9-0 less than three minutes into the game on a safety and Tannehill’s 1-yard scoring pass to Hutson Prioleau. Randy Bullock kicked a 27-yard field goal with 1:30 left in the first half.

Tannehill passed for 232 yards and the two touchdowns.

Murray rushed for 84 yards on 26 carries.
