David Wilson returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown with 2:23 left in the fourth quarter to lead Virginia Tech to a 28-21 ACC win over Georgia Tech Thursday in Blacksburg, Va.

The Hokies (7-2, 5-0 ACC) overcame an early 14-0 deficit to post their seventh straight win and assume control of the ACC Coastal Division.

Wilson added a 12-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, and Tyrod Taylor threw a short touchdown pass to Andre Smith to give Virginia Tech its first lead with 6:44 to play.

Georgia Tech (5-4, 2-3 ACC) scored on its first two drives on a pair of Joshua Nesbitt touchdown runs. But late in the first half, Nesbitt injured his right arm trying to make a tackle after throwing an interception. He was unable to return in the second half.

But Wilson took the ensuing kickoff up the sideline and sprinted into the end zone for the winning score. The Yellow Jackets drove inside the Virginia Tech 20-yard line with 20 seconds to play, but Washington was intercepted by Rashad Carmichael in the end zone to seal the win for the the Hokies.

Virginia Tech heads to North Carolina on Nov. 13. Georgia Tech will try to bounce back at home against Miami (Fla.) on Nov. 13.
