Mississippi State's defense forced two turnovers and stopped Florida's last-ditch drive in the final minute, helping the visiting Bulldogs snap a streak of 16 consecutive losses in Gainesville, Fla., with a 10-7 win on Saturday.

The Gators drove to the Mississippi State 25-yard line, but Chas Henry missed a 42-yard field goal with four seconds left, sealing the Bulldogs' first win at Florida since 1965 and extending their winning streak to four games.

Mississippi State (5-2, 2-2 SEC) attempted only eight passes, completing four for 34 yards. The Bulldogs rushed for 213 yards on 48 attempts.

Vick Ballard led the Bulldogs with 97 rushing yards on 20 carries, and quarterback Chris Relf added 81 yards on 22 carries. Relf scored on a 6-yard run in the first quarter to give Mississippi State a 10-0 lead.

Omarius Hines scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter for Florida's only score. John Brantley completed 24 of 39 passes for 210 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Jeff Demps returned from a sprained foot that kept him out of last week's loss to LSU, but he gained only 36 yards on five carries and had a key fumble in the fourth quarter.

The Gators (4-3, 2-3 SEC) have lost three consecutive games for the first time since 1999. Mississippi State last won four straight during the same season.
