Diondre Borel threw for one touchdown and ran for another as Utah State crushed visiting Brigham Young 31-16 on Friday night.

Derrvin Speight rushed for 91 yards and a pair of 1-yard touchdowns as the Aggies (2-3) unleashed years of frustration in snapping a 10-game losing streak at the hands of the Cougars.

It was the fourth consecutive lopsided defeat for BYU (1-4), which hadn't lost four in a row in 17 years.

Coincidentally, Utah State's last victory over the Cougars was a 58-56 win in October 1993 that sent BYU to its fourth straight defeat.

Borel finished 10 of 13 for 192 yards and rushed for 69 yards for Utah State, which bolted to a 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter and never looked back.

Borel connected with Xavier Martin on a 79-yard scoring pass to open the scoring with 6:57 left in the first quarter.

Two key defensive plays helped the Aggies pull away. An interception led to Braeden Loveless' 34-yard field goal in the final minute of the first quarter.

Then, after Utah State stuffed BYU on 4th-and-1 at the Aggies' 37, Borel guided a 12-play, 63-yard drive that he capped with a 1-yard run for a 17-0 lead en route to a 24-3 halftime cushion.
