Dan Bailey made a 41-yard field goal as time expired to give No. 24 Oklahoma State a thrilling 38-35 victory over Texas A&M, Thursday in Stillwater, Okla.

Shaun Lewis set up Bailey's game-winner with the Cowboys' fourth interception off A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson with just 30 seconds left in the game.

Bailey's field goal capped a wild fourth quarter that saw Oklahoma State take a 14-point lead on linebacker James Thomas' 63-yard return of a Johnson fumble.

The Aggie quarterback responded by leading consecutive scoring drives and tying the game with his fifth touchdown pass of the night. Johnson passed for 409 yards but couldn't overcome his turnover woes. The A&M senior had five turnovers on the night and has committed 10 turnovers in the last two games.

The two teams combined for almost 900 yards of offense, but also eight turnovers in a back-and-forth Big 12 opener for both squads.

Texas A&M (3-1, 0-1) capitalized on three Oklahoma State turnovers in the first half and built a 21-7 lead at intermission. But the Cowboys (4-0, 1-0) opened the second half with 21 straight points. Kendall Hunter’s second touchdown run of the third quarter gave Oklahoma State its first lead, 28-21 heading into the fourth quarter.

Johnson’s fourth touchdown pass of the game cut the Cowboys lead to 35-28 with 5:19 to play. He then connected with Ryan Swope from 25 yards out to knot the score at 35-35 with three minutes to play.

After an Oklahoma State punt, Johnson drove the Aggies near midfield, before Lewis, a true freshman, picked off an overthrown pass and returned it to the A&M 40 to set up the winning kick.

Things don’t get any easier for the Aggies, who face Arkansas next week at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

Oklahoma State wraps up its non-conference play at Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday.
