Eric Rogers hauled in eight passes for 119 yards and Ka'Deem Carey made a touchdown catch for Calgary, which can clinch its 15th consecutive playoff berth with a loss by Ottawa on Saturday.

James Franklin completed 12-of-16 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown after replacing an ineffective McLeod Bethel-Thompson midway through the third quarter for the Argonauts (2-10), who haven't beaten the Stampeders since Sept. 21, 2013. Bethel-Thompson was 12-of-19 for 86 yards and an interception while Derel Walker caught five passes for 52 yards and a score.

Williams took a pitch 24 yards for a touchdown to open the scoring and Mitchell threw an 11-yard scoring strike to Carey to double their lead on the last play of the first quarter. Rene Paredes (42 yards) and Tyler Crapigna (9) traded field goals before Calgary's kicker converted a 17-yard attempt with 29 seconds left in the first half to open a 20-3 advantage.

Trumaine Washington intercepted a pass by Mitchell in the end zone to keep the Argonauts within striking distance and Crapigna kicked a 36-yard field goal to pull them within 14 points heading into the fourth quarter. Paredes made no mistake from 15 yards out to put Calgary on top 23-6 before Crapigna responded with 35-yarder and Walker made a 35-yard touchdown catch with 1:56 remaining to close the gap to seven, but the Stampeders picked up enough first downs to kill the clock and post their fourth straight win.
