Stampeders 37, Roughriders 10: Nick Arbuckle threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns in his first CFL start as visiting Calgary pulled away from Saskatchewan.

Arbuckle completed 19-of-22 passes after replacing Bo Levi Mitchell (pectoral muscle), who was placed on the six-game injured list, as the Stampeders won their second straight game after losing the season opener. Ka'Deem Carey rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown in his CFL debut while Reggie Begelton hauled in four passes for 102 yards and a score to lead Calgary.

Cody Fajardo, who threw for 790 yards in the previous two games, was 9-of-15 through the air for 89 yards with two interceptions as the Roughriders fell to 1-3 after beating Toronto on Monday. William Powell finished with 57 yards from scrimmage and Naaman Roosevelt gained 66 yards on five receptions for Saskatchewan.

Carey finished off the first drive of the game with a 2-yard touchdown run and Rene Paredes booted the first of his three first-half field goals - this one from 11 yards early in the second quarter - to give the Stampeders a 9-0 lead. Gabriel Ferraro connected on a 36-yard kick - his first in the CFL - to get Saskatchewan on the board before Paredes converted from 50 and 39 yards to help Calgary take a 15-3 advantage at intermission.

Fajardo capped the opening drive of the second half with a 1-yard TD run as the Roughriders pulled within five points, but Arbuckle connected with Eric Rogers for a 19-yard scoring strike on the final play of the third quarter as Calgary moved in front 22-10. The Stampeders put away the game on the second play of the fourth period as Tre Roberson made his second interception of the game and returned it 48 yards for a score before Arbuckle added a 76-yard touchdown strike to Begelton with 5:19 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Calgary LB Cory Greenwood finished with a team-high eight tackles and DE Chris Casher added two sacks. … Roughriders LB Solomon Elimimian made his team debut after spending nine seasons with the BC Lions and made five tackles … Calgary also was without RB Don Jackson and Juwan Brescacin, who are both in concussion protocol. … Saskatchewan DB Loucheiz Purifoy finished with 163 yards on four kickoff returns.
