Blue Bombers 40, Argonauts 14:
Matt Nichols threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns as host Winnipeg cruised past Toronto to post back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Nichols completed 19-of-28 passes while Nic Demski accounted for 116 yards from scrimmage and a pair of touchdowns for the Blue Bombers (4-3), who moved into a second-place tie with Edmonton in the West Division. Kenbrell Thompkins caught three passes for 81 yards in his CFL debut and Drew Wolitarsky added a touchdown reception for Winnipeg, which has won five of its last six meetings with Toronto.

James Franklin was 20-of-31 for 236 yards and added a rushing touchdown but threw three interceptions for the Argonauts (1-5), who have dropped three straight games. James Wilder Jr. rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown while Rodney Smith made four catches for 62 yards for Toronto, which couldn't survive seven turnovers.

Justin Medlock converted field goals of 47 and 20 yards while Demski made an over-the-shoulder catch for a 42-yard touchdown as Winnipeg jumped on top 13-0 after one quarter before Wilder found the end zone from 3 yards out to cut the deficit to six points. Demski took a fly sweep 28 yards for a touchdown and Medlock booted a 45-yarder as the Blue Bombers scored the final 10 points of the first half to build a 23-8 lead.

Winnipeg stuffed Franklin on a third-and-1 deep in the red zone and Brandon Alexander picked off a pass in the end zone, which led to a 22-yard field goal by Medlock on the last play of the third quarter as the Blue Bombers pulled ahead 26-8. Nichols threw an 8-yard scoring strike to Wolitarsky to extend Winnipeg's lead to 25 points and Ian Wild returned a blocked punt 18 yards for a touchdown to put an exclamation point on an impressive victory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Winnipeg WR Weston Dressler caught four passes for 35 yards to extend his streak of games with at least one reception to 119, which is the eighth-longest in CFL history. … Toronto WR S.J. Green finished with five catches for 40 yards to move past Andy Fantuz for 33rd place on the league's all-time receiving yards list. … Blue Bombers RB Andrew Harris added five catches for 50 yards. … Franklin has thrown six interceptions in four games since taking over for the injured Ricky Ray (neck).
