Redblacks 41, Tigers-Cats 36: William Powell ran 43 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 31 seconds left as Ottawa rallied to edge visiting Hamilton and take over first place in the East Division.

Powell finished with 133 yards rushing - going over 1,000 for the season - and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter for the Redblacks (8-9-1), who finished the regular season and will hope for a Toronto (8-9-0) loss at BC next week to win the East. Trevor Harris went 26-of-38 through the air for 313 yards and two scores to go along with three interceptions while Diontae Spencer gained 133 yards on nine catches for Ottawa.

Jeremiah Masoli passed for four touchdowns and completed 32-of-46 passes for 438 yards - his fourth straight game with at least 300 - and Brandon Banks hauled in two of the touchdown strikes among his 13 receptions for the Tiger-Cats (5-12). Banks finished with at least 100 receiving yards (193) for the fifth straight contest while Luke Tasker gained 139 yards on 12 catches with a TD for Hamilton, which went ahead 36-34 with 1:25 to go on Kenny Allen's 43-yard field goal.

Masoli connected with Jalen Saunders (six yards) and Banks (12 yards) for touchdowns in the first quarter, and the Tiger-Cats had a 19-3 lead midway through the second after Allen's short field goal before the Redblacks fought back. Brett Maher booted a 53-yard field goal and Drew Tate, in for a short time with Harris getting checked for an injury, threw a 39-yard scoring strike to Juron Criner before Powell's conversion run cut the deficit to 19-14 at halftime.

Harris hit Greg Ellingson for a 12-yard score to give Ottawa the lead early in the second half, but Masoli came right back to connect with Banks for a 42-yard score and interceptions by Don Unamba and Courtney Stephen stalled the Redblacks' next two drives. Masoli found Tasker for an 8-yard score to extend the lead to 11, Powell responded with an 8-yard TD run and Harris connected with Criner for a 12-yard touchdown as Ottawa nosed in front 34-33 with 3:52 to go.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ellingson became Ottawa's all-time, single-season record holder for receptions with 96, passing Marc Lewis (94, 1994). … Tasker went over 1,000 yards receiving in a season for the second time (also 2015) and eclipsed 4,000 yards for his career. … Ottawa WR Brad Sinopoli (shoulder), who had hauled in 91 passes for 1,009 yards, and DB/LB Jerrell Gavins (knee) have been lost for the season. … Hamilton WR Jalen Saunders went over 1,000 receiving yards in his rookie campaign. He registered 96 yards (six receptions) Friday and pushed his total to 1,073 on the season.
