Blue Bombers 29, Redblacks 9: Matt Nichols threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns as Winnipeg cruised past Ottawa to notch its fifth straight home win.

Nichols completed 23-of-33 passes while Darvin Adams caught seven passes for 195 yards and a touchdown for the Blue Bombers (9-3), who have won seven of their last eight games overall. Andrew Harris accounted for 132 total yards and a score while Timothy Flanders made a TD catch for Winnipeg, which forced three turnovers.

Ryan Lindley finished 16-of-36 for 151 yards in his first CFL start as the Redblacks (5-8-1) missed a chance to increase their lead atop the East Division. William Powell rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown for Ottawa, which was missing starting quarterback Trevor Harris (shoulder) and backup Drew Tate (upper body).

Justin Medlock kicked a pair of field goals (27, 36 yards) to put Winnipeg on top 6-1 early in the second quarter. Medlock tacked on a 25-yard kick before Jackson Jeffcoat ripped the ball out of Powell's hands and recovered the fumble, which led to Andrew Harris' 24-yard touchdown run that helped the Blue Bombers build a 16-2 halftime lead.

Nichols found Flanders for a 4-yard TD to stretch Winnipeg's advantage to 20 points near the midway point of the third quarter and Adams hauled in a 75-yard pass to put the Blue Bombers in total control at 29-3. Powell sprinted untouched for an 11-yard touchdown, but the damage already was done as Winnipeg moved within three points of West Division-leading Calgary.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The opening kickoff was delayed 20 minutes due to inclement weather. … Harris moved past Willard Reaves (5,923) for 26th place on the CFL's all-time rushing list. … Ottawa WR Brad Sinopoli, who leads the CFL in receptions, was held to two catches for 13 yards. … Blue Bombers WR Weston Dressler accounted for 37 total yards before leaving the game with an arm injury late in the second quarter.
