David Joplin bundled his season-high 20 points with nine rebounds as No. 6 Marquette throttled Georgetown 81-51 on Friday in Milwaukee for its 18th straight home win.

Joplin shot 6-of-11 from the field and canned four of his seven 3-pointers as the Golden Eagles (10-3, 1-1 Big East) matched Maryland for the fifth-longest active home win streak in Division I. Tyler Kolek tallied 13 points, 10 assists and five rebounds, while Oso Ighodaro added 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Jayden Epps tallied 14 points and Dontrez Styles added 12 as Georgetown (7-6, 0-2) finished with its fewest points in a game this season. Supreme Cook supplied seven points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for the Hoyas. Drew Fielder chipped in nine points off the bench.

Georgetown has lost its last 14 games against ranked opponents since defeating No. 17 Creighton in the Big East Championship on March 13, 2021.

Marquette shot 44.6 percent from the field and dished out 22 assists on 29 made field goals. The Golden Eagles flipped 19 Hoya turnovers into 28 points and outscored Georgetown 18-11 in transition.

The Hoyas finished 32.8 percent from the floor and 5-of-25 from 3-point range.

Marquette needed more than nine minutes to take its first lead of the game but shot 53.3 percent in the opening half to cruise into the break ahead 41-24.

Georgetown made its first three field goals and held a 13-10 edge eight minutes in before the Golden Eagles' offense found its groove and blew the game open.

Ben Gold delivered Marquette's first 3-pointer to tie the game before Ighodaro's floater put the Golden Eagles ahead 15-13 with 10:50 left. Gold added two more treys to power a 22-4 run that sprung Marquette ahead 32-17 with 5:48 left until halftime. Gold finished with nine points on 3-of-5 3-point shooting.

Ighodaro's two-handed jam from Kolek's lob drew a Hoyas timeout with Marquette leading 36-19 with 4:46 left in the first half.

The Golden Eagles opened the second half on an 11-3 run and took their first 30-point lead on Sean Jones' free throw with 11:51 left in the game.

Marquette led by as many as 38.
