Eli Brooks scored 15 points and Caleb Houstan added 13 points to lead No. 6 Michigan to a 77-49 victory over Prairie View A&M in the inaugural Coaches vs. Racism Roundball Classic at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.

Michigan (2-0) stormed out to an 8-0 lead in the opening minutes, with Hunter Dickinson scoring the first seven. He finished with 11 points, all in the first half, and added 10 rebounds.

DeVante' Jones contributed 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Wolverines, who had four of their five starters score in double figures.

William Douglas led Prairie View A&M (0-3) with 15 points off the bench, although he was only 4 of 14 from the floor. Jeremiah Gambrell was next with 11 points, and Jawaun Daniels collected eight assists.

The Wolverines built a 26-point lead with 3:30 left in the first half after back-to-back layups by Dickinson, and they had a commanding 42-23 lead at the break.

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Houstan and Brooks extended Michigan's lead back to 25 about four minutes into the second half, and the Panthers got no closer than 22 the rest of the way,

The Wolverines emptied their bench with the big lead.

Michigan shot 51.6 percent from the field and 33.3 percent (5 of 15) on 3-pointers and finished at 45.5 percent and 34.5 percent respectively. The Wolverines outrebounded the Panthers 52-32.

Prairie View A&M finished at 27 percent from the floor and 22.2 percent (4 of 18) from long range.

Prairie View (0-3), which was coming off a 92-76 loss at the University of San Francisco on Thursday, will be right back in action on Sunday vs. Oklahoma State.

Michigan, which opened with an 88-76 win over Buffalo, will host Seton Hall on Tuesday.
