Jesse Edwards and Cole Swider each scored 19 points to lead Syracuse to an 89-82 road victory against North Carolina State on Wednesday evening in Raleigh, N.C.

All five starters scored at least 16 points for the Orange (11-11, 5-6 ACC), who have defeated the Wolfpack (10-13, 3-9) in all four matchups over the last two seasons. Joe Girard III contributed 18 points, Buddy Boeheim had 17 and Jimmy Boeheim 16 for Syracuse, which won despite receiving zero points from its bench.

The Orange shot a crisp 59.3 percent from the field and drained 11 of 19 3-pointers in winning back-to-back games for the first time this calendar year. Edwards was 8 of 9 from the field, while Swider and Jimmy Boeheim each made 7 of 9 attempts.

Terquavion Smith converted seven 3-pointers en route to 25 points for the Wolfpack, who have lost five of their last six games. Dereon Seabron chipped in 17 points and eight rebounds, and Jaylon Gibson notched 14 points for the hosts.

Smith knocked down a 3-pointer with just over 3 1/2 minutes left to get NC State within 81-80, but Buddy Boeheim converted a layup on the other end to put Syracuse up by three. The Wolfpack again got within a point on two free throws by Seabron, but Swider's 3-pointer extended the lead to 86-82 with 1:41 remaining.

NC State missed its final seven shots from the field, allowing Syracuse to clinch the win from the foul line.

Neither team led by more than four in the first half until Smith's 3-pointer with 9:02 remaining put the Wolfpack ahead 29-22. The Orange finally caught up at 42-42 on Girard's 3-pointer with under a minute left in the half, but Smith knocked down a triple on the other end to create a three-point margin at intermission.

Syracuse erased a six-point deficit early in the second half, scoring 12 straight points to take a 54-48 advantage. The visitors grew their lead to as many as 11, but NC State made three 3-pointers to inch within 72-71 with about eight minutes to go.
