Jake LaRavia poured in 31 points as Wake Forest ran away from visiting North Carolina in a 98-76 victory Saturday night at Winston-Salem, N.C.

Alondes Williams racked up 23 points and Daivien Williamson had 19 points for the Demon Deacons (16-4, 6-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). Damari Monsanto hit three 3-point shots on his way to 13 points off the bench.

The Demon Deacons defeated North Carolina for only the second time in the last 10 meetings.

LaRavia's point total was bolstered by shooting 9 for 13 from the field and 12 for 15 from the free-throw line. He also led Wake Forest with 10 rebounds and four assists.

Brady Manek scored 22 points for North Carolina, but he fouled out with 5:25 to play. RJ Davis provided 18 points and Armando Bacot turned in 12 points and 12 rebounds, but Caleb Love shot 3 for 15 from the field and was held to nine points.

The Tar Heels (12-6, 4-3) have suffered two blowout losses in a five-night span after a 28-point defeat at Miami on Tuesday night. Even a 50-38 rebounding advantage didn't make a big enough difference in this one.

Wake Forest coach Steve Forbes was back on the bench after missing Wednesday night's game at Georgia Tech because of illness. The Demon Deacons have won three consecutive games since a home loss to Duke.

The trio of LaRavia, Williams and Williamson were the only Wake Forest starters to score.

Wake Forest was up 61-52 before going on a 10-0 run that was capped by three 3-point baskets from Monsanto in a 58-second span. Monsanto was in just his second game of the season coming off an offseason injury.

Wake Forest led 46-36 at halftime after going up by as many as 13 points during the opening 20 minutes. The Demon Deacons broke away from a 20-18 edge after North Carolina guard Leaky Black picked up his second foul.

North Carolina stayed within range, aided by 12 offensive rebounds leading to 14 points before the break.
